Manchester Airport are an ongoing client of ours and love their annual horse racing event, however this year they wanted to put on something a little bit different!
In previous years this event has been quite small scale and was held in a local restaurant. After dinner we would usually put on our race night, which has always gone down very well, but it was time for a change.
The client was looking for something that was still team related, could get everyone involved and that would work with their evening format.
We set up a meeting with the client to discuss their requirements further and also to see the proposed venue. The event was to be held at the the Runway Visitor park, underneath the wings of Concorde, this was just a little bit different from their usual Bistro style venue. After speaking through different options, we came to the conclusion that The Formula would be the most suited option.
The event took place in the evening as we fitted it in with their proposed agenda. Starting off with an introduction from the MD and followed up by our event host, the evenings activities were explained to the guests. The activities commenced and teams were sent off to their challenges. During the event, there were also scheduled Concorde tours taking place. We broke mid way for a short and casual buffet style dinner, before starting up the activities for the final half of the evening. With a race to the finish and a tight time schedule to keep to, teams were rounded up for the final scores and some great podium photo opportunities.
We received great feedback from our client, they had their reservations on trying out a new activity as the past years had gone down so well. However these were quickly forgotten about and a great time was had by all.
“Just wanted to say thank you again for last night. The response we have had from our guests has been fantastic, so many have emailed this morning to say what a great night they had and how much they enjoyed the theme and entertainment. Please pass on our thanks to your team, who were such good fun and actively encouraged everyone to join in, not that they needed too much encouragement. I'm not sure how we will top this next year but may be something to start thinking about!! Take care and thanks again for making the even such a success for all.”- Caroline Marchbank, Retail Operations
